On the program for the MDS Morocco: 3 magnificent stages that will take you through the most beautiful parts of the Moroccan Sahara. A total of 70, 100 or 120 kilometers to cover at your own pace, whether walking or running.
You’ll spend 4 nights in the heart of the Sahara at the MDS bivouac, and 4 nights in a hotel located in Ouarzazate Province (2 nights before, 2 nights after the adventure).
You’ll also get to discover the Ksar Aït-Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The MDS 120 Morocco gives you the chance to discover the Sahara from the inside, on the playground of the iconic MDS LEGENDARY. With 39 editions under its belt, the MDS Legendary is a race that fuels the dreams of many adventure and long-distance enthusiasts.
MDS 120 Morocco offers 70, 100 or 120 km through breathtaking scenery, total immersion in the Sahara desert, meaningful encounters and powerful emotions, making for an unforgettable adventure.
And for those who one day dream of tackling the MDS LEGENDARY, it’s also the perfect opportunity to train and test yourself in real conditions.
LIFE AT THE BIVOUAC
During the MDS 120 Morocco, you’ll dive into an authentic adventure where simplicity and camaraderie become part of your daily life. Each night in the desert, you’ll sleep in your own individual tent at the MDS bivouac. The bivouac is organized into clusters of six tents and stays in the same place throughout the race.
It’s a place of connection where strong bonds are forged, stories and laughter are shared, and mutual support comes naturally. There’s no electricity, no mobile network, no showers: just the essentials to reconnect with nature, with yourself, and with others.
At the bivouac, you’ll find toilets (don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper), shaded communal areas, and a medical tent that’s open at any time should you need care.
SEL-SUFFICIENCY
The MDS 120 Morocco is held in complete food self-sufficiency. This means you’ll need to carry all the food you require for the four days in the desert in your backpack. The organization provides only drinking water at the bivouac and at checkpoints, located roughly every 8 to 12 km during each stage.
After each stage, you’ll receive 5 liters of water to use for hydration, cooking, or basic hygiene until the next day.To be well prepared, plan for between 10 and 12 meals, with a recommended daily intake of at least 2,000 kcal. Many participants choose freeze-dried meals, savory snacks, dried fruits, or energy bars to keep their backpack as light as possible.
This self-sufficient approach brings an intense personal challenge… and makes crossing the finish line even more rewarding.

*You will share you room at the hotel with one other participant. Once you have registered, you will have the opportunity to fill in the name of the person you wish to share the hotel with. If you do not fill in anything, you will be randomly assigned with one other participant who speak the same language as you. The rooms are not mixed, unless otherwise requested.
