VOLUNTEERS

The organization covers travel from capital cities, accommodation, meals, and on-site logistics.
Exception: international travel to Peru and Namibia is at the volunteer’s expense.

Before departure, you’ll receive a complete checklist to pack according to your destination (headlamps, suitable clothing, sun protection, etc.).Each volunteer must bring their own sleeping bag and personal items. We provide some gear, so leave space in your bag for it.

The first nights are usually at a hotel with full board. Afterwards, you’ll stay at the bivouac, which varies depending on the format: individual tent, double tent with mattress (Trek format), or large communal Berber tent (Morocco).

Meals are provided daily by the organization:

• Breakfast: buffet or box depending on the destination
• Lunch: buffet at the bivouac or lunch-box if you’re on a mission outside the bivouac
• Dinner: buffet at the bivouac (except during the long stage, where boxes are distributed at checkpoints)

MDS is an authentic experience: no showers, no Wi-Fi, intense days, and short nights.But it’s also full of laughter, sharing, great encounters, and memories that last a lifetime.

No. From the start of the event, you are fed, accommodated, and given a local SIM card to communicate with the team.And since MDS is also about disconnecting, the SIM is only for essentials; the rest of the time, you fully live the experience, away from daily life.

No. You don’t need to be a runner or trail athlete. What matters is your energy, willingness to help, and team spirit. As long as you’re motivated and physically able to keep up, you can participate. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Languages are a plus but not required. A smile, encouragement, or simple gesture often creates strong connections with participants.

Tasks can be intense and varied (checkpoints, bivouac, welcoming, etc.). You’ll always be part of a team and accompanied by experienced volunteers.

Depending on the format, between 7 and 10 days. Add 2–3 extra days for travel to and from the destination.

You are responsible for getting yourself to the resort where the event takes place. Once you arrive, we take care of everything else: accommodation, meals, activities, and more.

Each volunteer must bring their own sleeping bag and personal belongings. We provide some gear, so be sure to leave enough space in your suitcase to bring it back with you.

To fully experience the adventure, volunteers sleep just like the participants, in individual tents.

Depending on the resorts, we either work with local restaurants or share freeze-dried meals together.

The MDS is an authentic experience: no showers, no Wi-Fi, long days, and short nights. But it’s also full of laughter, sharing, wonderful encounters, and memories that last a lifetime.

You don’t need to be a runner or practice trail running. What matters is your energy, your willingness to help, and your team spirit. As long as you’re motivated and in good physical shape to keep up, you can participate. We welcome volunteers of all ages.
