Direction the amazing desert of Wadi Rum, in Jordan, for a week out of time. Breathtaking landscapes that will transport you during an exceptional adventure. 

On the program: a week of adventure during which you will live at the rhythm of the desert, through 3 stages, to be done at your own pace: walking or running. You will sleep 3 nights on the MDS bivouac, in the heart of Wadi Rum, and discover the mythical city of Petra. For the end of your MDS experience, you will enjoy during 4 nights, the comfort of a 4 stars hotel located on the shores of the Dead Sea (2 nights before, 2 nights after).

Program of the adventure

Distances

You can choose between 3 different distances: 70, 100 or 120km, divided into 3 stages.

Here is the breakdown:

Stage 1: around 25 to 30km
Stage 2: around 20, 40 or 60km
Stage 3: around 25 to 30km

You will be able to walk or run these distances. More info on the distances and format here.

You will share your room at the hotel with one or two other participants. Once you have registered, you will have the opportunity to fill in the name of the person(s) you wish to share the hotel with.

If you do not fill in anything, you will be randomly assigned with one or two other participants. For the rooms for 3, the 3rd bed is a comfortable sofa-bed.

The rooms are not mixed, unless otherwise requested.

The organisation of the MDS does its best to ensure that the event takes place in the best conditions, and that participants who register don’t take any risk with adjusted cancellation and postponement conditions.

Free postponement

In case of doubt as the adventure approaches, you can postpone your participation free of charge to the next edition, up to 60 days before departure.

Cancellation conditions

Our registration conditions allow you to cancel free of charge until 5 months before the event.

Cancellation insurance

In case of cancellation of the event by the organization, you will be refunded 100% of the amount you paid within 60 days.

THE DESERT OF WADI RUM

In the continuation of our World Tour of deserts, when we went to the Wadi Rum, there was no doubt that we had to bring you to this exceptional place.

Located in the south of Jordan, the desert of Wadi Rum is breathtaking.
Contrasts, canyons, caves and natural arches, the landscapes are just amazing.

4 days in the heart of Wadi Rum, that's the unique experience that the participants of this new MDS adventure will live.

DISCOVER JORDAN

During this exceptional week, we will take you to the wonders of Jordan.

Starting with the Wadi Rum desert, where you will cohabit with these great spaces, the camels and the Bedouins, masters of the place.

Your adventure will continue with the discovery of Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the modern world.

And to complete your experience in Jordan, you will finish with two days at the Dead Sea. An unique place to end your MDS trip.

INFO HOW TO GET THERE?

You have to book your flight tickets to arrive at Queen Alia airport in Amman, Jordan.

Transfers between the airport and the hotel will be organized on the official days of the beginning and end of the MDS week. The trip takes approximately 1 hour.

For those traveling on different dates or wishing to make their own way to the hotel:
- Shuttles between the airport and the hotel, for 6 to 7 people, cost around 120 USD in total.
- Cabs cost around 70 USD for 2-3 people.

WHICH FLIGHTS TO CHOOSE?

Several airlines have international flights to Amman from the world's major airports.

It is recommended that you purchase airline tickets with cancellation and change insurance, due to the restrictions that may be applied by the countries.

PROGRAM FOR THE WEEK

Day 1: arrival at hotel
Day 2: technical and medical checks, day at hotel with access to the Dead Sea
Day 3: bus transfer, first stage, night in bivouac
Day 4: second stage, night in bivouac
Day 5: rest day, night in bivouac
Day 6: third stage, discover Petra, night in hotel
Day 7: day at hotel, Gala dinner
Day 8: transfer to airport, end of adventure

Depending on your wishes, you can extend your stay if you wish to continue discovering Jordan.

DISTANCES

You can choose between 3 different distances: 70, 100 or 120 km, divided in 3 stages.

These distances are given as an indication and are likely to be reviewed downwards according to the type of terrain and the difference in altitude of the routes.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU?

If it’s your first MDS, you probably have a lot of questions. Once you register, we'll send you a full checklist of the material, but here is the principal to have per person:

Backpack plus 2 water bottles (type Ultrabag 20L)
T-shirt + running shorts
Trail shoes + anti-sand gaiters
Cap and sunglasses
Change: T-shirt + light shorts / leggings
Windbreaker jacket for the evening and morning
Sleeping bag + mattress for the night
Hygiene products (sun cream, soap, antiseptic...)
Toilet paper
Food and kitchen utensils (cooking utensils, lighter, fire pellets...)

You can bring a large suitcase with more clothes, which you will leave at the hotel and find after the MDS adventure.

Prices for the MDS Jordan are as follows:

Cancellation conditions – 4th edition, November 2024:

Free cancellation until June 09, 2024.
From June 10 to July 14, 2024 inclusive, 25% of the total amount of the registration will be retained by the organization in case of cancellation.
From July 15 to August 11, 2024 inclusive, 50% of the total amount of the registration will be kept by the organization in case of cancellation.
From August 11, 2024, no refund is possible, however it will still be possible to postpone according to the conditions detailed below.

Postponement conditions – 4th edition, November 2024:

Up to August 11, 2024 included, postponement to the next edition free of charge.
From August 12 to September 22, 2024 included: 250€ fee for a postponement.
From September 23, 2024: no postponement possible.

Cancellation conditions – 5th edition, May 2025:

Free cancellation until December 29, 2024.
From December 30, 2024 to February 02, 2025 inclusive, 25% of the total amount of the registration will be retained by the organization in case of cancellation.
From February 03 to March 09, 2025 inclusive, 50% of the total amount of the registration will be kept by the organization in case of cancellation.
From March 09, 2025, no refund is possible, however it will still be possible to postpone according to the conditions detailed below.

Postponement conditions – 5th edition, May 2025:

Up to March 09, 2025 included, postponement to the next edition free of charge.
From March 10 to April 13, 2025 included: 250€ fee for a postponement.
From April 14, 2025: no postponement possible.

Cancellation conditions – 6th edition, November 2025:

Free cancellation until June 08, 2025.
From June 09 to July 13, 2025 inclusive, 25% of the total amount of the registration will be retained by the organization in case of cancellation.
From July 14 to August 10, 2025 inclusive, 50% of the total amount of the registration will be kept by the organization in case of cancellation.
From August 11, 2025, no refund is possible, however it will still be possible to postpone according to the conditions detailed below.

Postponement conditions – 6th edition, November 2025:

Up to August 10, 2025 included, postponement to the next edition free of charge.
From August 11 to September 21, 2025 included: 250€ fee for a postponement.
From September 22, 2025: no postponement possible.

SAFETY

During the race, you will be surrounded by the medical and organization teams from the beginning to the end of the stages.

The courses are marked with stakes every 50/100m, so it is almost impossible to get lost.

You will all be equipped with a GPS beacon with an alarm button, allowing the organization to locate you at any time.

A medical tent is present at the bivouac where you can go at any time.

The number of instalments may vary depending on the date of registration. The registration will be 100% validated once the total amount of the registration is paid.
