8. Will there be a medical team similar to on MDS MAROC?

Like for MDS MOROCCO, competitors’ safety is a priority for the organization and so medical assistance will be present along the entire course.

9. Will the event feature messengers and live tracking like in Morocco?

Just like MDS MOROCCO, all competitors will be equipped with a TRACKING WAA SPOT enabling live tracking of their progress on the official HALF MDS FUERTEVENTURA website.

4. EQUIPMENT

1. Are the tents individual or shared?

Tents are individual and provided by the organization. At the end of each stage, competitors must pitch their own tent at the spot indicated by the organization. Before each stage starts, competitors must fold up and pack their tents so that the organization can drop them off at the next bivouac. Competitors do not have to carry their tents!

Each day, the bivouac will be set up at a location previously chosen by the organization, and competitors will be given a numbered camp placement. Each tent is marked: competitors keep the same tent from start to finish.

After the race, tents remain the property of competitors, who may keep them.

2. Is pitching and taking down tents complicated, or are they pop-up style?

Pitching the tents is easy, it takes about 5 minutes, with 7 stakes to push into the ground and 1 pole to position in the centre of the tent. After taking it down, count another 2 minutes to fit it into its bag, making sure the number is visible so that the organization can put it at the correct placement on the next bivouac.

3. Can the carbon batons supplied for the tents be used during the stages? Can you describe them?

The carbon batons supplied by the organization can be used for the stages. They are telescopic, in 3 sections adjustable from 105 cm to 135 cm. After the race, as for the tent, the batons become competitors’ property and may be kept.

4. Is it possible to bring an extra suitcase or bag and ask the organization to keep hold of it during the race?

Competitors can come with an additional item of luggage that will be kept for them until the end of the last stage. During the race, it will be impossible to recuperate this personal bag, which will not be on the bivouac site.

5. Where can I find practical information about the race (e.g. what clothing, food to take, etc.)?

Each month, everyone registered on the HALF MDS FUERTEVENTURA will receive a newsletter to prepare the race. We are also available to provide any additional information you might need.

Race organization contact:

email: fuerteventura@marathondessables.com

6. What kind of sleeping bag will I need at night?

The average temperature is 14°C, you will therefore need a bag for above 0°C.
